Lake Limestone Public Use Areas

There are four public use areas, or parks, at Lake Limestone. Two are owned and operated by the Brazos River Authority and two are owned and operated by Limestone County.

These parks offer a variety of amenities, including boat launching ramps, camp sites, picnic tables and fishing piers.

Sterling Robertson Dam
Public Use Area #1

From Groesbeck from TX 164: F.M. 937 SE 19.3 miles; Sterling C. Robertson Dam Road East 2.5 miles to west side of Lake Limestone.


Limestone County Park
Public Use Area #2

Primitive camping area on 17 acres.

  • Owned and operated by the County
  • Boat launching ramp
  • Picnic tables
  • Parking
  • No drinking water available
  • Camping: 14-day limit
  • No dirt bikes or all-terrain vehicles allowed.
  • Free and open year round. No reservations needed.

From Groesbeck from TX 164: F.M. 937 SE 11.3 miles; F.M. 3371 E & N 3.6 miles to West side of Lake Limestone.

Primitive camping area on 25 acres.

  • Free and open year round. No reservations needed.

From U.S. 79: F.M. 1146 N 6.7 miles; local road West 1.8 miles to East end of dam. On Lake Limestone.
