At about 12:55 p.m. today, Wednesday, June 12, 2024 the Brazos River Authority opened one gate at Possum Kingdom Lake’s Morris Sheppard Dam.
The release is about 9,300 cubic feet per second.
The gate is expected to be open for 72 hours or longer. The duration of the release will depend on inflows and any future rain that may fall around the reservoir and upstream.
The release will take about 36 to 40 hours to reach Lake Granbury. Once the water arrives at Lake Granbury, the DeCordova Bend Dam will safely pass the water through.
