SECOND gate opened at Possum Kingdom Lake’s Morris Sheppard Dam

SECOND gate opened at Possum Kingdom Lake’s Morris Sheppard Dam

The Brazos River Authority opened a second gate at Possum Kingdom Lake’s Morris Sheppard Dam at 9:27 a.m. today, Thursday, May 1, 2025, for a release of about 18,000 cubic feet per second.

It will take about 36 to 40 hours for the water released from PK to travel from Morris Sheppard Dam to DeCordova Bend Dam at Lake Granbury. Once the water released from PK arrives at Lake Granbury, the release from the DeCordova Bend Dam will be increased to safely pass the PK water through the lake.
