Mark your calendars: drawing dates set for waterfowl hunting sites

Waterfowl hunting at sunrise

Avid hunters have been patiently waiting for the Brazos River Authority (BRA) to set the 2025 dates for its annual drawings for designated waterfowl hunting blind locations on its three reservoirs. The wait is over!

The BRA offers hunters the chance to enter a lottery-style drawing for one of 60 established hunting blind sites at BRA-owned reservoirs: Possum Kingdom Lake, Lake Granbury and Lake Limestone.

Hunters must be at least 18 years old, have a valid 2025-2026 Texas hunting license, and a Migratory Game Bird Endorsement and the 2025-2026 Federal Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp (Duck Stamp). One entry is allowed per person. The $200 permit fee is due at the time of the drawing for those selected.

Hunting sites are provided by the BRA, but the hunters are responsible for providing their blind. Hunting is only allowed at the designated location on each reservoir. All blinds are water-only access. There are no locations at all three reservoirs that are accessible by land. No more than four hunters are allowed at any given permitted waterfowl hunting site at one time.
