ICYMI: Articles from Brazos.org

  • Boat-tiquette: Don't be known as "that" boater: You don't want to be that boater: The boater everyone can tell doesn't know what they're doing. That boater that's disregarding buoys, other recreationists on the lake, turning what's supposed to be a fun day in the water into a frustrating or dangerous one.
  • Seriously, what's with those no wake signs?: Maybe it’s your first visit to a Brazos River Authority reservoir. Or maybe you’re a regular at either Possum Kingdom Lake, Lake Granbury or Lake Limestone. Either way, make sure everyone is clear about what a No Wake Zone is, where they are located, and that a violation could be costly in many ways.
  • Know Your Buoy: Warm days, clear skies and a day at the lake may be calling your name. But if you plan to operate a watercraft, remember that navigational aids in the water are strategically placed to provide information you need to know.
  • Watch Your Wake: Wakeboarding and wake surfing are growing increasingly popular on Brazos River Authority reservoirs, but it's not just boats designed to create big waves that are responsible for their wake.
