Per a recent Engineering Inspection Report of Morris Sheppard Dam, it is recommended that a seismic analysis of the dam be completed using induced seismic loading and the latest information from USGS. Also, it is recommended that a hydrographic sedimentation survey should be completed.
Estimated Request for Proposals: FY27 Q2
Per a recent Five-year Inspection of Morris Sheppard Dam, it was recommended to evaluate the erodibility of the spillway and downstream drop-offs, and perform a head cut analysis to understand the likelihood of head cutting if the emergency spillway is engaged.
The rip rap and benching on the upstream east embankment is deteriorating. Repairing the rip rap and investigating the soil cement has been recommended. BRA will evaluate the upstream slope protection at Sterling C. Robertson Dam to determine maintenance and/or repair options.
The access roads at Sterling C. Robertson Dam and the facility's administrative complex areas have deteriorated over time. Cracks and depressions have developed in the asphalt pavement and as a result, water ponding is now occurring on the road. The BRA will pursue an engineering assessment to obtain road repair options and subsequently
Some cracking and displacement of wing walls have been noted on approach and discharge ends of existing box culvert supporting Red Bluff Bridge Road. Repair approach apron and replace discharge apron. This project will evaluate and repair the box culverts.
Large or high-hazard dams must undergo a probable maximum flood (PMF) analysis. This project will include a study to determine potential dam loads and stresses for future evaluations and to assess downstream impacts.
Estimated Request for Proposals: FY27 Q3
This project will add walkways on the North side of the Dam to access the gallery and to the South side of the dam to access the Low Flow Outlet Works.
Estimated Request for Proposals: FY28 Q2
Sterling C. Robertson Dam was constructed over 40 years ago to create Lake Limestone. To help identify long-term maintenance recommendations for the concrete associated with the dam a Comprehensive Concrete Assessment is planned. This assessment will ensure that the dam maintains its maximum useful life and allows issues to be identified and addressed in a preventative manner.
Additional rip rap needs to be installed at the South Dike of DeCordova Bend Dam in order to prevent/reduce future erosion to the east and west side upstream abutments. This project will evaluate and repair rip rap.
Erosion has occurred to the North and South bank, located immediately downstream of the Dam and Powerhouse. This project will evaluate, recommend, and execute remediation.

The original construction of the Williamson County Regional Raw Waterline (WCRRWL) intake structure anticipated the need to add additional pumps in the future to fully utilize the capacity of the pipeline. Installation of two additional 2,500 HP pumps is being planned to maximize the pump station capacity.
Estimated Request for Bids: FY27 Q3
A stoplog system replacement to remove and replace stoplogs is currently in design. A Request for Bids will be solicited to build a stoplog replacement. Some concrete repair work will be executed in conjunction.
Estimated Request for Bids: FY28 Q1
The East Williamson County Regional Water System (EWCRWS) is undergoing a design for future expansion to increase capacity of the system. One component will be a three-mile treated-water pipeline from the plant to customer take points.
Estimated Request for Bids: FY28 Q2
Request for bid for a raw water transfer system will consist of multiple components, including an intake and pump station at Belton Lake, an outlet at Stillhouse Hollow Lake, and an approximate six mile transmission pipeline between the lakes.
Estimated Request for Bids: FY30 Q1
