BRA WILL AGAIN OPEN ONE GATE AT POSSUM KINGDOM LAKE

BRA WILL AGAIN OPEN ONE GATE AT POSSUM KINGDOM LAKE

Due to residual runoff from upstream of Possum Kingdom Lake, the Brazos River Authority will reopened one gate at Possum Kingdom Lake's Morris Sheppard Day, Wednesday, May 8, 2024, around midday for a release of about 8,900 cubic feet per second. The gate is expected to remain open for about 24 hours. Be alert for rising water conditions in the Brazos River.

The release will take about 40 hours to reach Lake Granbury. Once the water arrives at Lake Granbury, the release at the DeCordova Bend Dam will safely pass the water through.

The last gate release was initiated on Saturday, May 4. It was closed Sunday, May 5.

Please be aware of rising river levels on the Brazos. Recreation is strongly discouraged during gate operations.  To view streamflow, reservoir levels and rainfall amounts, go to www.BrazosBasinNOW.org
